Convocation Dinner @Rakuzen Publika Solaris Dutamas

October 21, 2014

The convocation ceremony for Bachelor of Dental Surgery took place last Friday morning. To be able to witness so many of my seniors (especially two of my buddies) graduate was such a privilege. I secretly harboured a wish in my heart that one day I will also graduate to become dental doctors just like them. Four more years... :)

Sentimental words aside, my buddyline had a great night last Friday! Two of my lovely just-graduated buddies treated us dinner at Rakuzen Restaurant @Pubika Solaris Dutamas.

Loving the sleek exterior design with vertical wooden ‘bamboo sticks’. Fun fact: Door is automatic. Press the button to open them.

Not sure whether we were seated in the VIP room or not but our table was at a rather secluded spot, which is great for small gatherings :) Even while glancing through the menu, we can’t help but start chit-chatting with each other. It had been a while since our buddyline went for outings like this. Many of us have stories to share since the new semester just started a month ago.

-Doctor buddy Dey Eng receiving her handmade photo frame and angpau hehe-

-Doctor buddy Wan Wen receiving hers too-

-Already taking pictures while waiting for the food to arrive-

Yakiniku Jyu Zen
Grilled Beef on Rice Set RM28

-All sets come with miso soup, Japanese steam egg, sour tofu and fruits cubes(papaya and watermelon)-
Beef was surprisingly not tough at all. It was tender and juicy. I don’t usually like the strong taste of beef but this dish made it just right for my liking.

Unatama Jyu Zen
Roasted Eel & Omelette on Rice Set RM33
Not big fan of eels so I didn't really like this dish. But then again, my opinion may be biased so it would be best if you try it for yourself haha.

Nebeyaki Udon to California Maki Zen
Claypot Udon & California Roll Set RM38
Udon was smooth and… bouncy? If that’s the way you call it. The texture was just nice that it wasn't at all hard to chew although it is thick and a little rubbery. Hot soup was light and delicious! Sushi tasted incredibly good especially because there was a generous portion of mayonnaise. I could also feel the roe popping in between my teeth when I chew on them haha #toogood #musttryyyy

I forgot what these dishes are called…….

 Feast!

Say hello to the two new members of the family- little buds Tsui Yan & Zi Wei ~

Caryn and See Yee

Wan Wen surrounded by boys men.

A big ‘thank you’ to the waiter who helped us take this picture. On a side note, I look like a kid again in this pic zzz

Full of love!  I know I said this before but I'm gonna say it again anyway. I’m really glad to be in this buddyline. It will come a time when I graduate from this university but no matter where I am in the future, I know I belong to a family that will not die. It’s sacred :O

驴子 line~

haha! Inside joke.
=P

Till then.
